Easter isn’t all about chocolate eggs.  There is a healthier way of celebrating the festival season. Here are some simple ideas to help you and your family enjoy a nice easter break.

1. Bunny Shaped Pancakes.

Hop into the kitchen and whip up some cute bunny-shaped pancakes. You can choose to use wholemeal flour to increase the fibre content. Kids will love getting creative and decorating them with fresh or dried fruit.

2. Carrot Shaped Pizzas.

With a batch of freshly made pizza dough, mozzarella, sauce, a few favourite toppings and some greens to garnish, little mini pizzas are easy to make.

3. Bunny Fruit Skewers.

These are a fantastic snack for after school or post egg hunt!  You can use a variety of fruit including apples, strawberries, bananas, grapes, oranges, and melons cut into bunny shapes, but feel free to get creative with what you have on hand.

 4. Mini Plant Pot Carrots.

Spoon nutritious, creamy hummus into some clean mini plant pots and serve with baby carrots or other raw vegetables.  You can also add plenty of flavour with lemon, garlic, and tahini paste.

5. Easter Egg Strawberries.

These chocolate dipped strawberries are a fun little treat for yourself and the kids.  They are so easy to make and combine a healthy fruit with a thin layer of chocolate that will surely please your little ones.  Spend quality time together and make them with your whole family over long Easter weekend.
